Oliseh named best coach in Netherlands

Ex-Super Eagles coach, Sunday Oliseh, has added another milestone accolade to his ever-expanding resume.

Oliseh, 43, was Wednesday named Dutch second division’s best manager for the first stanza of the season.

The former Ajax star picked up the Bronze Bull after guiding Fortuna Sittard from relegation to third on the standings with 20 points from 11 games.

“I’m very honoured to win this prize,” the Nigerian told the club’s official website on Wednesday evening.

“Because this is the result of hard work and a lot of help from my players, the fans, my assistants, our chairman Isitan Gün and above all God!”

Oliseh wasn’t the only one from Sittard to pick up an award.

Young skipper, Perr Sabry, was also named the best talent of the first period.

Club President, Isitan Gün, couldn’t hide his joy over the accomplishment of his team.

“The whole club is extremely proud of Perr and Sunday,” he said.

“We may have missed the title in the 1st period; these Bronze Bulls indicate that we are on the right track. We are not long, we know, but it gives everyone within the club a strong “energy boost” to continue on the road and even takes one more step. This is really great!”

Oliseh will be hoping to maintain their promotion chase in the second stanza of the season beginning with a clash with Oss on Friday.
