Okoroji knocks Nigerian entertainers for shunning Kefee’s burial

Chairman of the Copyright Society of Nigeria (COSON), Chief Tony Okoroji, has knocked the Nigerian showbiz confraternity for boycotting the burial of gospel singer, Kefee, in Sapele, Delta State on Friday.

OkorojiIn a message he posted on Facebook on Saturday, the former President of the Performing Musicians Employers Association of Nigeria (PMAN) queried all the people who eulogised the deceased on social media immediately after her death but failed to turn up at her funeral.

While commending Azeezat, Sammie Okposo, Timaya and a handful of entertainers who made the trip down to Okpara Inland, Okoroji wondered if there would have been more celebrities if the event was a red carpet affair or a wedding in Dubai.

“Forgive me however for wondering where the showbiz fraternity was,” he said.

“Where were the many people wailing about Kefee on Facebook? Where was the gospel music fraternity among whom Kefee held sway?

“I can imagine if the burial ceremony was a party to show off our new clothes or a wedding – even if in Dubai! How truly deep is our love?”
