Obesere receives chieftaincy title from Osun monarch

Fuji musician, Abass Akande, popularly known as Obesere, has been conferred with a chieftaincy title by the Olowu of Kuta, Oba Hammeed Oyelude, in Osun state.

The singer popularly known as ‘Omo Rapala’ was conferred as the Agbaakin of Yorubaland while his wife bagged the Yeyeluwa Agbaakin of Yorubaland on Wednesday.

Giving his remarks, Oyelude said Akande was found worthy in character and behaviour to be conferred with the title.

Oyelude revealed that he and Obesere have enjoyed a good relationship for years.

The monarch urged the musician to use his chieftaincy title for the unity and advancement of the Yorubaland.

Expressing his gratitude for the title, Obesere praised the monarch for the honour given him, promising to use the position wisely.

“Myself and wife gladly accept this title and we will use it wisely,” he said.
