Oba of Benin welcomes quadruplets

Oba of Benin His Royal Majesty Oba Ewuare II has welcomed a set of quadruplets with his fifth wife Esosa Ewuare.

The monarch had in May 2020 welcomed his first infant prince after he ascended the throne of his fathers as the 40th oba from her Royal Highness, Iyayota Ewuare.

The traditional ruler made the announcement at 4:57p.m at his palace on Friday in Benin City amid jubilation by guests.

The quadruplets are three males and a female.

The monarch paid tribute to God Almighty and the ancestors for the blessing.

The presiding priest of the oldest West African Church, Holy Aruosa Church, Ohen-Osa Igbinoghodua Edebiri, offered prayer to God for wisdom and guidance for the newborns.

The brief ceremony coincided with the visit of the national executives of Immaculate Conception College, Benin City, which is the alma-mater of the monarch.

Esosa Ewuare is the youngest among the wives of the traditional ruler.
