OAU student Adegoke’s autopsy report sent to police

The police have received the report of an autopsy conducted on the remains of the late Timothy Adegoke, a postgraduate student of Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), Ile-Ife, whose controversial death at Hilton Hotels, Ile-Ife is being probed.

The four-hour autopsy was conducted on Monday, November 22 at Osun State University Teaching Hospital, Osogbo by a team of medical experts. Representatives of all parties in the matter were present for the procedure, according to Naim Adekilekun, counsel for the family of the late Adegoke.

A source who did not want name mentioned told PUNCH that the report was submitted at the police headquarters in Abuja on Wednesday.

The newspaper also gathered that a copy of the report was submitted to Osun State Police Command headquarters in Osogbo. But spokesperson of the Command Yemisi Opalola said enquiries on the case should be directed to the Abuja headquarters which has since taken over the case.

Elder brother of the deceased Gbade Adegoke told the newspaper that though the family has not been officially informed, they also learnt the report had been submitted to Osogbo Command and Abuja headquarters.

Hr said, “The report has been submitted to Osogbo and Abuja. We don’t know what is written inside. We have not been called, but we know they will call us soon.”

A court had denied bail to one of the suspects in the case Ramon Adedoyin, owner of the hotel where Adegoke died, pending police investigation.
