NSCDC officer dies after writing promotion examination in Lagos

An official of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in Lagos State has died 24 hours after writing her promotion examination.

Lagos NSCDC spokesperson, Kehinde Bada, confirmed the death to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Sunday.

Basirat Olaonipekun died on Saturday after writing the examination at Ikeja Police College on Friday.

“She was ill and came for the promotion examination. It happened after the examination, she collapsed and was rushed to the police hospital at the College where she was treated but later died,” Bada said.

The deceased has been buried according to Islamic rites.

The spokesperson said the commandant, Ayinla Adeyinka, expressed the corps’ condolences and prayed for fortitude to bear the loss.
