Naira Marley still in custody seven days after bail

Naira Marley in court

Seven days after being granted bail by a Federal High Court in Lagos, singer, Azeez Fashola, popularly known as Naira Marley, is yet to appear in public.

A check of the ‘Japa’ singer’s social media accounts reveals little activity in the days since a N2 million bail was granted by Justice Nicholas Oweibo.

The presiding judge had granted Naira Marley the bail with a condition of two sureties in like sum.

Naira is facing 11 counts bordering on cybercrime for allegedly conniving with one Yad Isril (at large) to use Access card issued to other persons in a bid to obtain gain, an offence contrary to Section 27(1) (b) of the Cybercrime Prohibition, Prevention Act 2015.

On Friday, May 31, his management team had admitted that he was still in custody as they perfected the terms of his bail but since that time no updates have come out of his camp.

Reports have indicated that witnesses from financial institutions will testify at his hearing slated for October 22, 23 and 24.
