No beer hurt in fire at Nigerian Breweries – Management

The management of Nigerian Breweries Plc on Sunday afternoon confirmed a fire outbreak at the empty bottle compound of the company’s Lagos plant in Iganmu.

A statement signed by Corporate Affairs Adviser, Kufre Ekanem, said the fire which started early in the morning was put under control by men of the Lagos State Fire Service supported by the brewery fire team and other nearby corporate organisations.

Mr Ekanem confirmed that none of the company’s beverages was destroyed by the fire.

“There were no injuries or fatalities arising from the fire,” he said.

“Only empty bottles, plastic crates and some sections of the bottle holding bay were impacted by the fire. Brewery operations were not disrupted by the incidence.

The statement thanked all stakeholders who called to seek clarification or support the company over the fire incident.
