Tunde Bakare

Nigerians have launched attacks at the founder of Latter Rain Assembly, Pastor Tunde Bakare, for saying he would succeed President Muhammadu Buhari in 2023.

Clips of the sermon which was given in February 2018 was culled up late Sunday and has been gaining attention on social media.

Bakare, who was Buhari’s running mate in the 2011 presidential election, said during the sermon that he was born for the purpose of governing the country.

The cleric said God had prepared him for the nation’s top job for more than 30 years.

“I will succeed Buhari as President of Nigeria, nothing can change it. I am number 16, Buhari is number 15. I never said it to you before. I am saying it now and nothing can change it,” he said.

It is also alleged that Vice President Yemi Osinbajo might be eyeing the seat come 2023.

However, Nigerians on Twitter have rained fire and brimstones at the preacher.
