Fashola: Nigerians debate power ministry’s outburst

Babatunde Fashola

Nigerians have connected the Minister of Works and Housing, Babatunde Fashola, to an outburst by the Ministry of Power on Monday evening.

Fashola chaired the ministries of power, works and housing from 2015 to 2019 before he was stripped of the power ministry by President Muhammadu Buhari going into his second tenure.

Minister of Power, Sale Mamman, in a statement on Monday, appeared to have criticised Mr Fashola, saying “Nigerians should be asking why there was no much improvement in the sector after such concerted efforts by the government and not to encourage wailers to sulk over public officers who have been in the ministry for over four years without tangible results.”

The ministry also accused what it called a ‘cabal’ using some ‘faceless groups’ in Lagos of attempts to undermine the efforts of the new minister.
