Nigerians kick against inclusion of anti-#EndSARS ex-army general John Enenche in Peter Obi’s campaign council

The inclusion of Major General John Enenche (retd.) in the presidential campaign council of the Labour Party’s flag bearer, Peter Obi, has stirred controversy among Nigerians.

The party had on Wednesday named Enenche among the 1,234 members of the council.

Obi and his running mate Datti Baba-Ahmed were not present at the party’s unveiling of the council.

Enenche had once described the reported October 20, 2020 Lekki shooting of #EndSARS protesters as being “photoshopped” and “cropped”.

Addressing a press conference after the incident, Enenche had said, “These videos were cropped and photoshopped. If not that I am not permitted, I would have forwarded it to you. Up till this morning, I got analyst to analyse the video and they said it was cropped and put together.”

The video where he made the comments is now trending on social media.
