Nigerians have attacked the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN) for its endorsement of the second term bid of President Muhammadu Buhari.

The group had announced in Abuja on Thursday during its 5th general meeting that it was throwing its weight behind Mr Buhari for re-election, promising to deliver him 20 million votes.

“We represent over 20 million members across the country, here in attendance we have over 2,000 people who have come from all corners of the country.

“We have representatives from each local governments, and you heard their views; they have declared their interest in President Muhammadu Buhari to move to the next level.

“This is a majority decision of the congress, we as leaders don’t have an option but to follow,” MACBAN national secretary Baba Ngelzarma said.

Since the endorsement, Nigerians on Twitter have been pouring attacks on the group which has had violent clashes with farmers in mostly Benue and Plateau States and some other parts of North Central in recent times.
