Nigerian brother involved in Jussie Smollet scandal knocks out boxing opponent in first round

Abel Osundairo involved in Jussie Smollet scandal

One of two Nigerian brothers named in the Jussie Smollett scandal on Thursday night knocked out his opponent during a boxing match in Chicago, US.

Abel Osundairo, dressed in a robe with the American flag, knocked out his opponent in round one.

The Osundairo brothers have told police that Smollett paid them to help to stage his attack in January.

Abel refused to speak to the media before or after the fight.

“Thank you for coming,” he simply said.

After the staged attack, the Osundairo brothers fled to Nigeria while Smollett performed to sold-out shows and arranged interviews with US media.

The brothers were arrested by police on their return to Chicago on February 20.

They were interrogated for 47 hours before finally revealing that Smollett was behind the attack.

Police have already seen footage of the brothers buying ski masks and other props to use in the attack.
