NFFCShow begins registration of football fans

NFFCSHOW

Organisers of annual TV game show, Naija Football Fans Challenge Show (NFFCShow), have announced the beginning of registration for football fans to participate in its maiden show.

Organisers of the show, in a press briefing on Monday in Lagos, said that registration opens at 3 pm on Monday (today) for football lovers to stand a chance to win a grand prize of N7 million for personal use and N5 million for community project.

Prospective candidates can apply by sending as an SMS the following to 2230 – NFFC, name, club, community.

NFFCShow project coordinator, Timileyin Ayeni, said that the show which would last for 13 weeks on television was hinged on statistics by Bloomberg Magazine that rated Nigeria as the most soccer-crazed nation in the world.

“Football is becoming big culture in Nigeria today and the fastest growing culture. We felt the best way to handle development is to align with the culture.

“So we decided to create a lot of community development around the culture of football fans today. That’s why we have what we call social impact fund where we give out N5 million to solve a community project for individuals that win the show,” he said.

Three major winners will emerge – the first takes home N7 million for personal use and N5 million for community project, the second will scoop N3.5 million for personal use and N5 million for community project while the third person will go home with N1.5 million for personal use and N5 million for community project.

Mr Ayeni also said that every registered participant would qualify for a weekly draw in which 50 fans would get N1 million weekly to “reward their knowledge of football and passion.”

Out of those who register for NFFCShow, 50,000 fans will be randomly selected and sent a unique code into the portal to answer football-related questions. The best 5,000 will be selected for auditioning. At the audition stage, 54 persons will ultimately make it to the show.

Football fans will be tested on their knowledge of their favourite clubs and football generally. The football clubs which have been selected are Manchester United, Real Madrid, FC Barcelona, Chelsea FC, Liverpool FC, Arsenal FC, Enyimba of Aba, Kano Pillars, and Shooting Stars.

Veteran broadcaster, Charles Anazodo, who was present at the briefing, will be the host of the show.

Also present was former Nigerian footballer, Victor Ikpeba, among others.
