Newly appointed coach of El Kanemi Warriors, Imama Amapakabor, has received a surprise welcome present from Borno State Governor, Kashim Shettima.

Amapakabor, who guided Enugu Rangers to their historic title in 2016, was handed a brand new car by his new employers.

The ex-goalkeeper, brought in to replace Ladan Bosso, was handed a lucrative deal, reported to fetch him N1m monthly and an awesome N15m sign- on fee.

“The governor clearly pronounced the car is a personal gift from him and the coach could drive it home from Maiduguri to his hometown in Okrika in Rivers State,” El Kanemi spokesperson, Tony Obaseki, told SCORENigeria on Wednesday.

“The governor has even directed that the car papers be handed to the coach.”

Obaseki said the gift was a pleasant surprise even to the club management.

“No one was aware that the governor will give the coach a car, so we were all taken aback by his generosity,” he explained.

“The governor is happy that Imama has left his comfort zone to come to a place where normalcy is only returning to.”
