Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan has emerged as the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate for Kogi Central Senatorial District ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Her emergence was announced in a statement issued on Thursday by her special assistant on media and publicity Mike Idoko.
According to the statement, party members and supporters participated in an affirmation exercise held across the 57 wards in the senatorial district.
The exercise was conducted simultaneously in all the wards before the final collation of results at Kahal Cinema in Okene, where party leaders, stakeholders and supporters gathered.
The statement added that officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) monitored the exercise alongside members of the media.
Speaking after the collation of results, Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan thanked party members and supporters for their support.
“This affirmation is a reflection of the trust and confidence the people of Kogi Central have continued to place in our collective vision for progress, inclusion and development,” she said.
The senator said the turnout across the district showed the commitment of party members to democratic participation.
“I am deeply humbled by the turnout across all 57 wards. This is not just about one individual; it is about our people coming together in unity to deepen democracy and build a stronger Kogi Central,” she said.
Akpoti-Uduaghan also pledged to continue representing the interests of the district and engaging with communities across Kogi Central.
“I accept this responsibility with gratitude and renewed commitment. By the grace of God and with the continued support of our people, we will remain focused on delivering development, justice and opportunities for everyone,” she added.
