Namadi Sambo’s phone stolen at Abuja event — Shehu Sani

Senator Shehu Sani

Senator Shehu Sani has alleged that the mobile phone of former Vice President Namadi Sambo was stolen at an event in Abuja on Thursday.

Sambo’s phone was reportedly stolen at the public presentation of the biography of the late ex-governor of Plateau State, Solomon Lar, and launch of Solomon Lar Leadership Institute.

In a statement issued on Tuesday by one of the planning committee members, Jonathan Ipaa, said the event would take place at NAF Conference Centre, Kado in Abuja.

Sani said in a tweet that he found it unbelievable that security was breached at the event.

“It’s incredible that someone can breach the tight security line and steal the phone of the former VP Sambo at the ongoing late Governor Solomon Lar Book launch in Abuja,” he wrote.

In the statement, chairman, planning committee and former director-general, National Orientation Agency (NOA), Mike Omeri, said top dignitaries across the political circle, ex-leaders, General Ibrahim Babangida (retd) Abdulsalami Abubakar, business and family associates have accepted invitation to attend the event.

Lar was a member of the first national parliament when Nigeria gained independence in 1960. Lar was the founding chairman of the Peoples Democratic party (PDP).
