Pop artiste Naira Marley has cancelled a protest earlier scheduled to hold on Tuesday in Lagos against the much-criticised Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS).

The 26-year-old tweeted saying: “We won’t be protesting anymore because there’s a lot of changes being made right now.”

Naira Marley had on Monday said he would lead a protest by 9 am but following the response of the police the singer has agreed that the protest should be cancelled.

A statement by Force spokesman Frank Mba posted on Twitter read: “The Force is irrevocably committed to changing these narratives and undertaking far-reaching reforms to reposition SARS and other Tactical Squads for better service delivery.”

Mr Mba will be having a live Instagram chat with Naira Marley at 11am on Tuesday to discuss the concerns of young Nigerians on SARS operations and other burning issues.
