Naira abuse: EFCC ordeal has put me under stress – Cubana Chief Priest

Socialite Paschal Okechukwu, better known as Cubana Chief Priest, has lamented the stress caused by his ordeal with the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

The social media influencer said this in an Instagram post on Thursday after it was reported that he had agreed with the EFCC to settle his naira abuse case out of court.

On April 16, EFCC, filed a three-count charge against him over alleged naira abuse.

He was arraigned the following day. When the charges were read, the social media celebrity pleaded not guilty.

Kehinde Ogundare, the judge, thereafter granted him bail in the sum of N10 million with two responsible sureties in like sum.

The judge ruled that the bail conditions must be perfected within seven days.

Cubana was released to his lawyer who must give an undertaken to produce him later. The trial was adjourned to May 2 for continuation.

During sitting on Thursday, both parties agreed to settle the matter out of court. The trial was then adjourned to June 5 for the hearing of the settlement report.

Speaking about his ordeal, Cubana Chief Priest urged his followers to avoid clashing with EFCC as he has been under stress since the saga began.

He wrote: “Court day Problem No Good Oh, @officialefcc No Dey Joke Oh Better Stay Away From Their Wahala, I’m SUre You Will Not Love To Pass Through This Kinda Stress I’m Passing Through.”
