Blessing CEO gets N10m bail, EFCC rejects custody request

Social media influencer Blessing CEO, whose real name is Blessing Nkiruka Okoro, has been granted bail in the sum of N10 million by the Federal High Court in Lagos.

Justice D.I. Dipeolu gave the ruling on Tuesday and ordered that she provide two sureties in like sum.

The judge, however, directed that she be remanded in a correctional centre pending the fulfilment of her bail conditions after the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) rejected a request for her to remain in its custody.

Blessing CEO is standing trial over allegations of obtaining N36 million by false pretence and stealing. She pleaded not guilty when she was arraigned by the EFCC.

During proceedings, her lawyer, Nneka Nkama, asked the court to allow her client remain at the EFCC facility until the bail conditions were met.

But EFCC counsel, Suleiman Suleiman, objected, telling the court that the commission’s facility was already full and could no longer accommodate her.

Following the objection, Justice Dipeolu ordered that she be remanded in a correctional centre pending the perfection of her bail.

The case was adjourned until June 22, 2026, for continuation of trial.

According to the EFCC, Blessing CEO allegedly obtained N36 million from Mrs Ifeyinwa Nonye Okoye between July 14 and July 17, 2024, under the claim that she had authority to lease a six bedroom duplex on Tunbosun Osobu Street in Lekki, Lagos.

The commission said the complainant paid the money and began renovation work before the real owner of the property appeared and removed her from the premises.

The EFCC disclosed in a Facebook post that the bail in the N36 million case is separate from another matter involving a fresh N69.15 million fraud charge.

The commission said, “The Lagos Zonal Directorate 1 of the EFCC, on Tuesday, June 9, 2026, again arraigned a social media influencer and self acclaimed relationship therapist, Okoro Blessing Nkiruka, also known as Blessing CEO, for an alleged N69,150,000 fraud case.”

It added that she was arraigned before Justice R.A. Oshodi of the Special Offences Court in Ikeja, Lagos, on a two count charge bordering on obtaining money by false pretence and stealing.
