Big Brother Naija reality TV star Phyna has broken down in tears while speaking about her late sister, Ruth Otabor.
In an Instagram live video circulating online on Saturday, the reality TV star said she still blames herself for not getting justice for her sister because false narratives surrounding the case made people ignore her pain.
“Pray that the people always believe that you don’t lie on you. Once the world believes a wrong story about you, your pain will not matter to them anymore. My sister would have been 25 tomorrow
“I will never forgive myself for not getting justice for her because someone lied on my head and turned the case to dust. My sister deserves justice.”
In another Instagram live session, Phyna reflected on how she handled her finances after becoming famous from the reality TV show.
“I thought I was helping my family, when the money entered, I was sharing it like mumu. No one advised me to go invest. The day I started saying No was when my problems started”.
Phyna’s emotional outburst comes months after she publicly accused billionaire businessman Aliko Dangote and the Dangote Group of attempting to cover up details of the accident involving one of the company’s trucks.
In August 2025, Phyna alleged that police removed the truck’s plate number after the accident that left her younger sister critically injured in Auchi, Edo State.
Her sister, Ruth Otabor, reportedly suffered severe injuries, including the amputation of one leg, after the accident near Auchi Polytechnic shortly after her graduation.
Following the allegations, the Dangote Group released a statement saying it was committed to supporting the victim with medical treatment and compensation.
The company said senior officials and its insurance team had visited the hospital and were providing comprehensive medical care and appropriate compensation for Ruth.
Despite the intervention, Ruth later died from complications related to the accident on August 31, 2025.
After her sister’s death, Phyna shared an emotional tribute on social media while celebrating her child’s sixth birthday, describing Ruth as someone who shaped her life and left a void that could never be filled.
