Mr Ibu brings Paul Okoye to tears with ‘heartbreaking’ message on deathbed

Singer Paul Okoye could not hold back his tears as he shared a message from late actor John Okafor, popularly known as Ibu, on his deathbed.

Mr Ibu passed away on Saturday at Evercare Hospital in Lagos State after a protracted battle with illness.

The 63-year-old had battled health issues that led to the amputation of his leg.

He was diagnosed with diseased blood vessels.

Reacting to the tragic news in a recent Instagram story Paul, also known as Rude Boy from P-Square music duo, shared a video of Mr Ibu showering praises on him.

In the video, Ibu said: “Rude Boy, Oh God, I don’t know where to start my language but everything happens exactly on God’s own time. When the time comes it has come. Rude Boy if you no go heaven call me nnama.

“You will go to heaven and we will sit down in the presence of the angels, we’ll eat together. Your life will never change. What people will be talking about today is ‘how come’ Ibu and P-Square, they’re not the same parents.”

Paul Okoye who got emotional, described the video as heartbreaking writing, “This breaks my heart even more.”

The 42-year-old also added several tears and heartbreak emojis to his caption.

In an earlier post, Paul Okoye recounted how he slept at the hospital with the comic actor for weeks before his demise.

“I slept in the hospital with you for several weeks just to be there with you and all and you still left. God why?” He wrote.

“Aswear forget!! Nothing dey for this life,” he added in another post.
