Moses delighted with new role under Conte

Super Eagles forward, Victor Moses, is finally enjoying his football under new Chelsea boss, Antonio Conte.

The 25-year-old has struggled to flourish at Stamford Bridge since his £9million from Wigan in 2012 – managing just 12 starts in the Premier League.

Lack of first team action took the former Crystal Palace man away from Chelsea to Liverpool, Stoke City and most recently West Ham United.

But the Nigerian reveals he is finally playing the way he did for Wigan which attracted the West London side.

And Moses’ recent exploits in pre-season has caught the attention of his Italian boss who seems keen to keep hold of the strong, direct and entertaining winger.

“That is my position really, staying out wide and most of the time going into one versus one situations which I am good at,” Moses told Chelsea official website on Tuesday.

“It is similar to the kind of game I was playing at Wigan and I have really enjoyed the two games.

“As a winger, you want to get at defenders and make it hard for them. Instead of them going forwards, they have to defend against you.”

His teammate and national team skipper, John Obi Mikel, will be representing Nigeria at this summer’s Rio Olympics football event.

Moses isn’t worried about missing the quadrennial showpiece, but instead wishes his colleagues well.

“I am lucky doing my pre-season here,” he added.

“With a new manager, I want to show my talent and that I am willing to play for the team, but at the same time I wish Nigeria the best and I hope they make the nation proud (at the Olympics).”
