Mo Abudu, Will Parker acquire rights for movie on Hushpuppi

Filmmaker and CEO of EbonyLife TV Mosunmola Abudu popularly known as Mo Abudu, Hollywood filmmaker Will Parker and Universal Pictures have acquired adaptation rights to Bloomberg article for a movie on Instagram celebrity Ramon Abass, also known as Ray Hushpuppi.

The 56-year-old media mogul announced this in an Instagram post on Thursday evening, stating that EbonyLife is uniquely positioned to ensure the depth and authenticity of the film.

The movie will be based on a Bloomberg story by Evan Ratliff which detailed how Hushpuppi allegedly went into internet fraud and how he was caught by International police.

“If we do not tell this story, someone else will. To ensure that this story is told with authenticity, a Nigerian storyteller with our pedigree needs to be involved,” she wrote in parts.

The graduate from the University of Westminster London has won several awards and produced box office movies like The Wedding Party, Chief Daddy and Fifty.

She was named ‘Africa’s Most Successful Woman’ by Forbes and rated as one of the ’25 Most Powerful Women in Global Television’ by ‘The Hollywood Reporter’.
