Meet Felix Nicolas, the pastor who came third in Nigeria’s presidential election

Felix Nicolas

Many would have expected the likes of Prof. Kingsley Moghalu of the Young Progressives Party (YPP) or Omoyele Sowore of the African Action Congress (AAC) to take third place in Nigeria’s presidential election held on Saturday, February 23.

Anyone would have also put a bet on Fela Durotoye of the Alliance for New Nigeria (ANN) to emerge third especially after Oby Ezekwesili (of Allied Congress Party of Nigeria, ACPN) pulled out of the race citing inconsistencies with the party’s agenda.

Despite the media attention and social media presence that the aforementioned enjoyed, a lesser-known figure, Felix Nicolas of the Peoples Coalition Party (PCP) came third with 110,196 votes scored nationwide to beat Moghalu (21,886), Sowore (33,953) and Durotoye (16,779).
