MC Oluomo: Police, LASTMA take over Eko Hospital

Policemen and officials of the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) have taken over Eko Hospital where MC Oluomo is receiving treatment, a visit by Qed.ng on Friday revealed.

MC Oluomo, real name Musiliu Akinsanya, is the chairman of the National Union of Transport Workers (NURTW), Oshodi chapter.

He was among the people injured at the inauguration of the Lagos All Progressives Congress campaign at the Sky Power Ground, Ikeja, on Tuesday.

LASTMA officials were seen around the hospital controlling traffic while police operatives have been screening visitors going in to see the NURTW leader.

Politicians of different calibre have been said to have visited the hospital since MC Oluomo was admitted.

The Punch has also reported that a close aide of the union leader told its correspondent on condition of anonymity on Thursday that MC Oluomo could be flown out to the United States where he is a citizen.

Lagos police spokesperson, Chike Oti, said, on the issue that “a total 16 suspects have now been arrested in connection with the clash. The police are not aware of any treatment abroad; such is a private arrangement. It has nothing to do with us.”

MC Oluomo was allegedly stabbed in the neck and side with a knife as rival factions of the NURTW clashed at the APC rally.

Chairman of Oshodi-Isolo local government area, Idris Muse-Ariyoh, had on Thursday debunked news on social media that there was crisis in Oshodi.

After a security meeting with the representatives of the police, the Nigerian Air Force, and taskforce, Mr Muse-Ariyoh said, “There are insinuations and misinformation on the state of security in Oshodi. I have come to address the press to erase every doubt and restore confidence back in the mind of the people that Oshodi- Isolo Local Government is safe as heaven.”
