Former world boxing champion, Floyd Mayweather, has offered to foot the bill for George Floyd’s funerals.

Floyd died while being restrained by Minneapolis police.

Mayweather, 43, will pay for funeral services in Houston – Floyd’s hometown – Minnesota and Charlotte, according to BBC Sport.

Several US reports say Floyd’s family have accepted Mayweather’s offer.

According to Hollywood Unlocked, a fourth funeral is being considered, one which Mayweather has also offered to cover.

“He’ll probably get mad at me for saying that, but yes, he is definitely paying for the funeral,” CEO of Mayweather Promotions, Leonard Ellerbe, told ESPN.

“Floyd has done these kind of things over the last 20 years.”

Floyd’s death has raised protests across the United States and worldwide.

Floyd, an unarmed black man, died while being pinned down by white police officer, Derek Chauvin, who has been sacked and charged with murder.
