Man remanded over alleged theft of 16mm 5 core cables

An Ogudu Magistrates’ Court on Friday ordered the remand of one 47-year-old Anthony Oluwaseun, who admitted stealing a 16mm 5 core cables.

Oluwaseun, a resident of Araromi Street, Ogudu, was charged on a count.

The Prosecutor, Insp. Lucky Ihiehie, had told the court that Oluwaseun stole the cable from a site.

According to Ihehie, an event manager, Mr John Onoche, reported the case at the Ogudu Police Station on Nov. 7 shortly after the crime occurred.

“The complainant reported that while he was at home, one of his workers called him on phone, saying that someone cut the 16mm 5 core cables worth N450, 000 which was kept at the site.

“Later in the day, the complainant was informed that the accused had been caught and taken to the station along with the stolen cable,” Ihiehie said.

The Magistrate, Mrs Ejiro Kubeinje, ordered that the accused should be remanded in prison until Dec. 5, when the court would review the facts of the case and sentence the accused.
