Dino Melaye

Senator Dino Melaye representing Kogi West at the National Assembly has released a song in which he mocked the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and announced his return to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

In a video he shared on social media on Friday evening, the 44-year-old is seen singing and dancing in a manner reminiscent of his past antics.

“Bye bye to jati jati” he tags the video in which he sings “PDP! Oh my home, oh my home, oh my home, when shall I see my home? When shall I see my PDP, I will never forget my home.”

The politician who is standing trial before a court in his home Kogi State added that “APC suffer me o.”

Bye bye to jati jati.

Melaye won election to the Senate in 2015 on the platform of the APC having defected along with others from the then ruling PDP on which platform he was elected to the House of Representatives in 2007.

He fell out with the APC over disagreement with Kogi Governor Yahaya Bello and the prosecution of Senate President Bukola Saraki over false assets declaration.

Things took a bizarre turn in May when he attempted to jump out of a police van taking him to Kogi for trial.

After weeks in the hospital, he returned to the Senate in June and opted to sit among PDP senators.

It is believed his defection to the PDP is a prelude to the return of Saraki and others to the party.
