Made Kuti bags first-ever Grammy nomination

Afrobeat singer Made Kuti, son of Femi Kuti, has bagged his first-ever Grammy Award nomination.

Made was nominated for Best Global Global Music Album for his debut album Legacy+, a collaboration with his father Femi Kuti.

Appreciating the recognition, the music star took to Instagram on Tuesday to thank the organisers of the award.

Made also bragged that the years he spent practicing his musical instrument to record the album has finally paid off. The 25-year-old also appreciated his father for his support.

“I’m dazed mehn!!! Guess who just got nominated for his first Grammy for his Debut album!!?? All those years I spent practising all those instruments by myself to record an album I would play every instrument in by myself!! Notating the music, recording it with @zarma_studio, editing! Man! I’m stoked! Thank you @recordingacademy and of course to the ultimate support pillar Femi Kuti,” he wrote.

Made’s mum Funke Kuti congratulated her son in the comment section of the post.

“Yesssssssss!!!Back to Back!!.Congratulations my darling son,” she wrote.

Wizkid and Burna Boys also received nominations for Best Global Music and Best Global Music Performance.
