Actress Liz Da Silva has reacted to a video showing what appears to be the dead body of singer Destiny Boy circulating on social media.
She condemned the act, questioning why anyone would record such footage.
In a video posted on her Instagram page, she said:
“This is for those that love to record dead people. What joy do you derive in picking up your phone and recording the lifeless body of someone who is not your relative. It is very annoying. Just because you were privileged to be beside the de@d body, the next thing is to pick up your stup!d phone and record a vulnerable person.
“Some of his family members have not even seen him and you think they will be happy to see the lifeless body of their person trending on the social media. Are you mad? Don’t you have respect for the dead?”
Destiny Boy, whose real name is Afeez Adeshina, was a 22-year-old Afrofuji singer known for blending traditional Fuji music with contemporary styles. Reports of his death began circulating on social media on Sunday, after videos showing his remains surfaced online.
Fans and colleagues have expressed shock and sadness over his death, while many are calling for respect for his family’s privacy as they grieve. As of now, there has been no official confirmation from Destiny Boy’s family or management regarding the cause of his death.
