Kwara State first lady and founder of the Ajike Peoples Support Centre Olufolake Abdulrazaq has enrolled the two daughters of Risikat Abdulwasiu, the blue-eyed woman, into Roemichs International School, a private primary and secondary educational institution in Ilorin, the state capital.
Kaosara and Hassanat Abdulwasiu were among the six pupils who were awarded a full scholarship of the school at a ceremony held at the school hall on Thursday.
Four pupils of public primary and secondary schools in Kwara State selected through a competitive examination would enjoy full scholarship of N1.5 million each covering the cost of tuition, boarding, uniform and books annually awarded by the founder of the school Jumoke Harb.
Commissioner for Education and Human Capital Development Fatimah Ahmed described Roemichs International School as one of the best in the state with a good record and excellent performance.
Mrs Abdulrazaq had reunited the blue-eyed woman and her husband Abdulwasiu Omodada following a Zoom meeting with the couple in August.
Risikat had raised alarm that she and her daughters were thrown out of the house by her husband because of their blue irises. But the man denied the allegation, saying Risikat’s family took her away because they were not satisfied with what he was providing for her and the children. He also said her eyes were part of the things that attracted him to her.
The first lady had also, through her NGO, secured a two-bedroom apartment for the couple within the Ilorin metropolis.
Chief press secretary to the first lady Adeniyi Adeyinka had in August confirmed in a phone conversation with Qed.ng that Risikat was undergoing training at the Ajike Peoples Support Centre
“Riskat is currently undergoing training at the Ajike People’s Support an initiative of the first lady.
“She stated that she could not write the West African School Certificate (WASC) examination before of lack of funds. She thereafter took to selling patent medicine.
“Mrs AbdulRazaq promised that the ministry of health will confirm if she is indeed fit to sell patent medicine,” Mr Adeyinka said.
