Kunle Remi appreciates Kunle Afolayan, others for role in Anikulapo

Actor Kunle Remi has penned down an appreciation message to filmmaker Kunle Afolayan, movie director Seun Olaiya and others who helped in the delivery of his role as Saro in Anikulapo.

The 33-year-old who has continued to receive praise from fellow celebrities and fans following his performance in the film, thanked Kunle Afolayan and others in a post shared on Instagram on Tuesday.

He wrote: “Foolishness is me not giving all the Glory to GOD ALMIGHTY for the talent, gift and Grace to become! To share the glory with him. To not acknowledge that he alone deserves all the accolades that come with this performance. Hence I’m eternally grateful and forever under his guidance.

“Ungrateful is me not specially giving a shoutout to the thespians that were there for me and guided me through the process of becoming. and delivering in a language not my comfort zone. @feyikemi_taiwo @blackpride22 @seunolaiyaofficial_Thank you, this isa win for us all. It can only get better.

Set in the 17th century Oyo kingdom and directed by Kunle Afolayan, Anikulapo is the story of Saro, a travelling cloth weaver, who was beaten to death for having an affair with the Alaafin’s youngest wife Queen Arolake played by Bimbo Ademoye.

Anikulapo also addresses issues surrounding polygamy as well as exploring different perspectives of African culture.

The movie also stars Sola Sobowale, Taiwo Hassan, Adebayo Salami, Dele Odule, Yinka Quadri, Faithia Williams, Ronke Oshodi-Oke, Mr Macaroni, Sunday Omobolanle, Toyin Afolayan, Kareem Adepoju and Hakeem Kae-Kazim.
