Filmmmaker Kunle Afolayan has cursed out a fan for complaining about his movie Citation watched on a pirated website.

The fan with the Twitter username @iam_Muideen said there was no subtitle of the French dialogue in the movie.

“Citation Is A Great Film No Doubt, But Non Subtitle Of French Part Is A Great Disservice To The Movie.” he said.

Replying, an angry Kunle wrote “You are a very stupid idiot. That’s what you get if you keep downloading films from unauthorized streaming platforms.”

Speaking during a recent Instagram Live session, Kunle said fans are not doing filmmakers any good by downloading from unauthorised sources.

“Therefore, I am pleading that you watch the movie from the right source, which is Netflix.

“If Netflix continues to get good numbers, it will not only benefit the industry but everyone because they will come back and commission more people to make good films,” he said.

Citation was released on Netflix on November 6.

The movie addresses sex for grades in schools, with dialogues done in Yoruba, English and French languages.
