Actor Muyiwa Ademola has reacted to the shocking death of Ifeanyi Adeleke, son of singer Davido.

A source close to the family revealed that Ifeanyi drowned in a swimming pool at the family’s residence in Lagos on Monday October 31.

“The boy was inside water for too long and they pulled him out and rushed him to the hospital. By the time they rushed him to Lagoon Hospital it was already too late,” the source said.

Reacting to the tragic news in an Instagram post on Tuesday November 1, Muyiwa stated that children should be supervised by adults when swimming.

The actor also called on the government to give modalities to those who want to build swimming pools in their houses.

He said: “We can’t just act as if nothing happened because we love them and we are all parents. May we never bury our children.”

In another post, the 51-year-old continued: “It is one of the saddest thing when kids are being buried by parents. We really wish it never happened! May The Almighty gives the parents and the entire Adeleke family the strength to bear this loss.

“Please and please if you have a pool in your house and you have little children, endeavor to secure free entry to the pool, ensure no one except adults and supervised children gets in. Maybe govt should begin to give modalities etc to those who wants to infuse swimming pools into their house structures, just maybe, just maybe. Rest In Peace Champ.”

A viral video had earlier shown Davido teaching his son how to swim. In the video, Ifeanyi could be seen flapping his legs in the water while Davido gave him instructions on what next to do.

Ifeanyi Adeleke was born on October 20, 2019 to Davido and his fiancee Chioma Rowland. He celebrated his third birthday recently.

His death comes four years after another artiste D’banj lost his son, who similarly drowned in the family’s swimming pool.
