Kidnappers of Buhari’s ADC’s father-in-law arrested – Police

Police in Katsina have said that they have arrested several suspects connected to the kidnap of President Muhammadu Buhari’s Aide de Camp (ADC)’s father-in-law, Musa Umar.

Umar was abducted in his residence at about 7pm on Wednesday just after he had finished praying.

Katsina police spokesperson, Gambo Isah, said on Thursday that several suspects were arrested as the officers arrived the scene, and that one police officer was hit during a shootout with the gunmen.

The statement did not say how many persons were arrested.

“IGP Tactical Squad, SARS teams, PMF and counter-terrorism units have already been dispatched to rescue the victim alive and safely to his family.

“We appeal to members of the public to always assist security agencies with timely intelligence on the activities of bandits, adding that the command and other security agencies are on their toes to bringing to an end the activities of the bandits,” part of the statement said.
