Military-clad kidnappers release Wike’s aide

Nyesom Wike

The kidnapped Special Adviser to Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, on Lands and Survey, Anugbum Onuoha, has regained his freedom.

Dr Onuoha was abducted on January 18 in a hotel on Ada George road in Port Harcourt by armed men dressed in military uniform.

He was released in the early hours of Saturday, following a joint effort by security agencies in the state.

Rivers Police spokesperson, Omoni Nnamdi, said the manhunt for his abductors is still on.

Mr Omoni appealed to the public to continue to have confidence in them and trust in their ability to make the state safe, even as the elections approach.
