Kidnapped OAU professor regains freedom

Professor Olayinka Adegbehingbe of Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), Ile-Ife, who was kidnapped on his way from Ibadan to Ife, has been released.

His release comes 24 hours after he was abducted on Sunday at about 9:15 pm along Ife/Ibadan expressway.

Osun police spokesperson, Folashade Odoro, confirmed that he was released on Monday night.

Also, media aide to Ooni of Ife, Moses Olafare, in a statement said: “Having spoken to his wife a couple of minutes ago, I feel so glad to break the good news that Prof Yinka Adegbehingbe of the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery of the Obafemi Awolowo University(OAU), Ile-Ife, who was yesterday (Sunday) kidnapped along Ibadan road around Ikoyi-Apomu axis has been released and now in the proper care of the Nigeria Police.”

Adegbehingbe lectures at the College of Health Sciences, Department of Orthopaedic Surgery and Traumatology, OAU.
