Former Big Brother Naija housemate Abiri Oluwabusayomi, popularly known as Khloe, has issued an official statement through her spa, Sayria, following an allegation of sexual assault made by travel and lifestyle content creator Angelica Kelechi.
Recall that late Sunday, Angelica accused a male masseur at Sayria Spa in Lagos—owned by Khloe—of inserting his fingers into her private area during a massage session on May 21.
In a now-viral video, Angelica described the experience as shocking and traumatic. She also shared a phone conversation where a voice, allegedly belonging to Khloe, could be heard responding to the claim with, “these things happen at a massage.”
In the recording, after Angelica said the masseur dipped his fingers into her vag!na, the voice said, “When he touched you… because these things happen in massage to be honest… when he touched you the first time, did you tell him that…?”
Angelica also claimed she reported the incident to the police but was blamed and shamed for visiting a spa.
Amid the backlash, Sayria Spa released a detailed press statement on Khloe’s Instagram Story on Monday.
The spa said it was “surprised by the turn of events” and stressed that it was addressing the matter “with full transparency, professionalism, and respect for all parties involved.”
According to the statement, Angelica had booked a surprise spa experience for her sister, which included two massage treatments. “At her request, the appointment was rescheduled on the same day. Upon arrival, both guests were warmly welcomed, celebrated the occasion with refreshments, and proceeded to their treatments,” it read.
Sayria said both clients were given privacy to change, and Angelica confirmed she was comfortable receiving a massage from a male therapist. “There were a total of four people in the room – the client and her sister were side by side, each receiving their treatment simultaneously. The massage was conducted professionally, with the therapist checking in regularly to ensure the client’s comfort throughout the session.”
The spa claimed both clients expressed satisfaction after their treatments, tipped the team ₦25,000, and stayed for an extended period before leaving.
“To our surprise, the client did not report any discomfort or issue to our management. Instead, later that evening, she returned with individuals accompanied by police officers, and our male therapist was taken in for questioning based on an allegation of misconduct.”
Sayria added that Angelica later voluntarily withdrew her complaint and submitted a formal letter to that effect.
Despite the withdrawal, the spa’s management said it launched an internal investigation, placed the staff member on suspension, and formally requested an independent investigation by law enforcement.
“Following further developments, our founder has instructed that the case be reopened for deeper investigation. The staff member is currently in police custody, and our Managing Director is personally overseeing the matter to ensure that the truth is uncovered and justice is served,” the statement said.
“We want to reiterate that Sayria Spa has zero tolerance for any form of misconduct or abuse. We remain fully committed to maintaining the highest standards of professionalism, client care, and safety.”
The spa added that it had reached out to Angelica “to express our concern and reassure her that we are treating this matter with the utmost seriousness it deserves.”
The statement ended with appreciation for the continued support of their clients and community as they “work to uphold a safe, respectful, and trustworthy environment for everyone.”
