Ken Saro-Wiwa’s daughter celebrates Chinese New Year

Noo Saro-Wiwa author and daughter of the late environmental activist Ken Saro-Wiwa on Friday joined in the celebration of the Chinese New Year.

Dressed in red, she shared a photo of herself and Chinese friend on Instagram.

“Happy Chinese New Year! Xin nian kuai le!… Year of the Ox. Dressed in red for good luck, then hot pot for dinner 😋,” she said.

Noo also shared photos of local Chinese recipes being prepared for the feast.

Also known as Spring Festival or the Lunar New Year, the Chinese New Year marks the beginning of a new year on the traditional lunisolar Chinese calendar.

The new year in the Chinese calendar is termed the Year of the Ox.
