Dami Marshal, daughter of Fuji musician Wasiu Ayinde, popularly known as KWAM 1 or K1 de Ultimate, has received the endorsement of Lagos State National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) chairman Mustapha Adekunle, also known as Sego, for her Lagos State House of Assembly ambition.

In a short video shared on Dami’s Snapchat handle on Wednesday, the aspirant was seen presenting branded caps to Sego during a meeting believed to be part of her political consultations ahead of the All Progressives Congress (APC) primaries.

Speaking in the clip, Sego said Dami was capable of delivering on the job and urged party members and supporters to support her ambition.

The NURTW chairman said, “When it is primary election, please come out en masse and vote for Dami, Omo Anifowose. She is the only one who can do it. The progress of our Surulere is our collective responsibility. It is our time.”

Dami, who currently serves as senior special assistant to Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu on tourism, recently declared her intention to represent Surulere Constituency II in the Lagos State House of Assembly under the APC.

In an Instagram post announcing her ambition, she said her professional experience prepared her for public service and representation.

Damilola also described herself as part of a new generation of leaders committed to development and youth inclusion.

She wrote, “I am excited to share that I, Barr. Damilola Ayinde Marshal, am stepping forward to serve the good people of Surulere Constituency 2 at the Lagos State House of Assembly.

“I am a woman of excellence and results. I am ready to serve and lead. With my background, I am fully prepared and ready to fight for what truly matters. I promise to be the voice of the youths in the House.

“As a young woman, I believe this is exactly what my people need right now, and that is why I decided to step forward.”

She is expected to replace the current lawmaker representing the constituency, Mosunmola Sangodara, who occupies the seat under the APC.

Damilola is a lawyer and was called to the Nigerian Bar in 2015. She later obtained a Master of Laws degree from the University of Lagos in 2022. She was appointed senior special assistant on Tourism by Governor Sanwo-Olu in May 2024.
