Actress Jumoke Odetola has expressed excitement after being recognised by her alma mater, Ajayi Crowther University.
In a video shared on her Instagram page, the actress said she had been invited as a guest speaker for the university’s distinguished personality lecture. She also revealed that students of the Theatre Arts department would celebrate her during the event.
Reflecting on the moment, Jumoke said it felt special returning to the institution in a different capacity after once being a student there.
“I was once a student here, and now, the great Ajayi Crowther University is my Alma mater. Now, I have been invited to serve as a guest speaker for the distinguished personality lecture, where the Theatre Arts students will also be celebrating Jumoke Oyetola. Isn’t that exciting?”.
Last year, the actress gave fans updates about her academic journey, saying the more she learns, the more she realises there is still much to know.
Two years ago, Jumoke returned to school to pursue a master of business administration degree at Ajayi Crowther University. At the time, she said her decision was driven by her desire for knowledge and personal growth.
In 2023, she announced that she had completed the MBA programme, sharing photos from her convocation ceremony and thanking God for helping her through the period, which she said came with health challenges.
Jumoke is a graduate of information and communication technology from Ajayi Crowther University. She later obtained a master’s degree in computer science from the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta.
The actress is known for roles in films and television productions such as Somewhere in the Dark, Binta Ofege, Jenifa on Lockdown and The Village Headmaster.
