Jonathan did not offer Ezekwesili ministerial appointment — Reno Omokri

Reno Omokri

Reno Omokri, former aide of ex-President Goodluck Jonathan, has alleged that the former president did not offer Oby Ezekwesili a ministerial role.

Mr Omokri was responding on Friday to a video posted on Twitter by Mrs Ezekwesili on April 14 which got a response from the co-covener of Bring Back Our Girls movement, Aisha Yesufu.

Mrs Yesufu claimed in a tweet that Ezekwesili “turned down ministerial offer in 2007 from Late President (Umaru) Yar’adua and also turned down ministerial offer from Goodluck Ebele Jonathan yet stomach infrastructure citizens think it is because she wants to be minister that she speaks for the poor.”

Omokri said he spoke with Mr Jonathan who denied offering Ezekwesili a ministerial position.

“@ObyEzeks did a video, of which one @AishaYesufu claimed that Oby was offered a ministerial appointment by @GEJonathan, but turned it down. I spoke to ex President Jonathan about this. His response ‘That is NOT true!’ Oby is, not surprisingly, a liar!” he wrote.

Ezekwesili was yet to respond to Omokri’s claim.

The former presidential candidate is as much a vocal critic of President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration as Omokri.
