Iwobi fires Zambia warning with goal in Arsenal’s victory

Arsenal forward, Alex Iwobi, has issued a warning message to Zambia with a goal in Arsenal’s 2-0 victory over Brighton on Sunday.

Iwobi is one of 23 players invited by Super Eagles coach, Gernot Rohr, to execute the crucial FIFA World Cup qualifier against the Chipolopolo.

The 21-year-old got a rare start at the Emirates – only his second this term and capped it with a fine finish.

With the Gunners already one-goal up thanks to Nacho Monreal, Iwobi pounced on a superb back-heel from Alexis Sanchez to double his side’s lead in the 56th-minute

The victory means Arsenal maintained their flawless home run and moved to fifth on the log level on points with Chelsea.

Iwobi’s impressive display will come as a boost for Rohr who had to do without the service of the 21-year-old in the double-header against Cameroon.

Nigeria face Zambia at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium, Uyo, on October 7 with a victory enough to guarantee them a place in Russia.
