Singer, 9ice, has responded to suggestion by fellow artiste, Falz, that the former’s song along with those of some unnamed musicians promote fraud.

Speaking in an interview with HipTV posted on social media on Thursday, said the extent some entertainers go in glorifying fraudsters and glamourizing fraud in songs make the younger generation believe it is legitimate to engage in such activities.

“You are an entertainer in a position as a role model to younger ones coming up and in your musical record you are greeting all the Yahoo boys. You are greeting all the fraudsters; calling their name personally, hailing them, wire wire mo fe ja se. All this culture you are making the young ones think it’s cool to do it, it’s not, you are destroying our future,” the rapper said.

The message was clearly directed at singer’s like 9ice whose song ‘Living Things’ is considered a fraudster anthem.

With all eyes focused on him, 9ice, in an interview on Thursday, rejected allegations that he promotes fraud.

“It’s not about promoting fraud, so to speak. It’s about one who wakes up in the morning, needs to go and work and earn a living. It’s not negative, it’s positive. You just have to be in that realm to understand what the song is all about,” the ‘Street Credibility’ singer said.
