David Alaba denies being asked for bribe to represent Nigeria

Austrian footballer, David Alaba, has denied reports saying that he was asked to pay money to represent Nigeria’s under 17 team.

The 26-year-old disclosed this in an interview with Nigerian sports journalist, Oma Akatugba, on Saturday.

The Bayern Munich defender denied ever saying that he had been requested to pay to represent the youth team.

David Alaba, whose father is a Nigerian, plays for the Austrian senior men’s national team.

He was born in Austria’s capital to a Filipino mother and a Yoruba father, making his debut for Austria at age 17.

In April, false reports had emerged claiming that that David was unable to play for Nigeria at youth level because of his refusal to pay some coaches.
