I thought Junior Pope’s death controversy was publicity stunt to promote movie – Shan George

Actress Shan George has said she thought that the controversy surrounding the death of her colleague Junior Pope was a publicity staunt to promote a movie he was filming.

There was confusion on Wednesday over the reported death of Junior Pope who died in a boat accident. After reports that he had died went viral, several of his colleagues including the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) debunked the death report, saying that he was alive.

They, however, made a U-turn after he was confirmed dead.

Junior Pope was confirmed dead on Wednesday night after several attempts to resuscitate him failed. The actor alongside other crew members drowned in the River Niger area on their way back from the set of Another Side of Life, a movie produced by Adanma Luke.

Speaking about his passing in an Instagram post on Thursday, Shan George said she thought the death announcement was a promotional concept for the movie and she even lashed out at those spreading the information.

She wrote: “I was in shock and in denial wen d sad news broke, I sincerely tot they’ve come again wit preposterous promotional concept for d movie being shot, I even got very angry over such dark concepts that I lashed out. May all d departed rest in d bossom of God. My condolences to d familes. Chaiiiii this one too heavy.”
