I should be a billionaire, Beverly Osu speaks on being underpaid in entertainment industry

Beverly Osu

Actress and reality TV star Beverly Osu has said she believes her work in the entertainment industry should have made her a billionaire by now.

She said this while speaking on a recent episode of Ghacha’s Chough podcast, where she discussed her career and concerns about pay in the industry.

Beverly claimed that the range of work she has done across different parts of the entertainment sector should have translated into greater financial success.

“I have worked so hard, my portfolio is enough to make me a billionaire not just in Nigeria but in Africa.

“I am a very humble person but I know that my portfolio is enough to make me a billionaire.

“So, I am fighting for better wages. I have tried different facets of the entertainment industry. From being a luxury model to video vixen to reality TV star and now actor. I have paid my dues.”

Beverly first gained wide attention in 2013 when she represented Nigeria in the eighth season of Big Brother Africa titled The Chase. She finished among the finalists and became one of the most talked about contestants on the show.

Before joining the reality TV show, she had already begun her career as a model and video vixen, appearing in music videos for artistes such as Ice Prince, Djinee and Kizz Daniel.

After the show, she moved into acting and has featured in several Nollywood productions including Chief Daddy, Òlòtūré, Nneka the Pretty Serpent and Who’s the Boss.

Beverly, who was born in Lagos and is originally from Delta State, has remained active in film, television and modelling since her rise to fame.
