I didn’t post video of Junior Pope’s corpse for clout – Jerry Amilo

Jerry Amilo

Actor Jerry Amilo has said he did not post a video of Junior Pope’s corpse to chase clout.

The actor said this in a video shared on his Instagram account on Thursday while apologising after he was criticised for posting the video.

Junior Pope was confirmed dead on Wednesday night after several attempts to resuscitate him failed. The actor alongside other crew members drowned in the River Niger area on their way back from the set of Another Side of Life, a movie produced by Adanma Luke.

Jerry who was at the hospital where Junior Pope was confirmed dead, shared a video of himself and the national president of Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) Emeka Rollas on Instagram on Thursday, staring at their colleague’s corpse.

The video sparked reactions as many, including Prince Eke, criticised and accused him of using his colleague’s death for clout.

Responding to the criticism, Jerry Amilo who later deleted the video, said his intention was never to chase clout as he only wanted to clear the air about the confusion surrounding Junior’s death.

“My intention was never to chase clout and God knows that people who knows me know I don’t chase clout. That post, if it hurt people I am sorry but it was just to clear the air that people should understand that we have lost a big one.

“People don’t understand what we are going through. I didn’t do that to gain anything. If it hurt anybody I apologise,” he said in parts.
