A student of Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU) Subair Enitan, who washed clothes for 58 hours in an attempt to set a new Guinness World Record, has debunked reports alleging she landed in a hospital.

In a video which went viral on X on Monday, Enitan is seen on a hospital bed with her hands white and wrinkled.

The 200-level student of Linguistics and African Languages commenced the marathon washing on Friday, November 24.

Reacting to reports that she had been hospitalised, Enitan said in a video shared on her Instagram page, “First of all, I’m sure you can see I’m very much okay. So to the people trending saying I landed in the hospital. I didn’t land in the hospital and these are my hands. I am better. I’ve been in my house with family members, my team members. I’ve been sleeping. I woke up this evening to take pictures. I have been very fine. Just dey play o. Nothing is wrong with me.”

Enitan began the quest at the Student Union Building Motor park inside the University campus with thousands of students rallying around her.

Various students and officials also paid solidarity visits to the venue to cheer her on.

She completed 58 hours around midnight on Monday.
